Join Andrew Field, Costwold Artist of the Year 2025 as he delivers his artisan watercolour workshop. The workshop is designed to introduce artists of all abilities to the unique qualities of watercolour. Throughout the workshop Andrew will demonstrate experimental methods to achieve specific effects, and textures, to add depth to your work. Using artisan materials and techniques Andrew will guide you through his approach to watercolour painting with reference to notable masters including JMW Turner, John Constable and contemporary artists Christopher Le Brun, Kurt Jackson and Lucy Marks. During this workshop you will realise that watercolour painting can be enjoyed by all abiliities and it is a myth that it is a completely unforgiving medium, only reserved for the experts. In fact anyone can enjoy working with watercolour to unleash its special qualities by layering, rubbing out and reworking. There will be the opportunity to respond to your own stimuli or with reference to images that will be provided, or you may wish to work intuitively and focus more on the process of working with watercolour. The workshop is going to be the perfect opportunity to learn how to develop your confidence and skills with using watercolour in a small, supportive and nurturing environment with like-minded people. You can view the recent 'Winter Landscape Workshop' that was held at Cobbs Farm Private Dining Room last month.
