A painting based on St Martin Island in the Isles of Scilly at low tide when you can walk out to sea in the shallow waters. As I was walking along the beach the sky was everchanging and so I decided to use magnetite which is a special pigment derived from the mineral iron oxide. As the name suggests the pigment is magnetic so if you put the pigment on different areas of the paper they will be drawn to one-another. I I was able to achieve the impression of low hanging cloud forms combined with the lavande blue for the deeper pockets of blue sky. The painting measure 15cm x 10cm and was created on smooth watercolour paper. The painting is mounted using an acid-free mount and is protected in cellophane. The painting is titled, dated and signed on reverse.
