Phacelia Field

Phacelia is a plant that grows incredibly quickly and is planted by farmers to prevent weeds from flourishing. I saw this view just outside Stratford Upon Avon in an area called Black Hill and was instantly struck by the dramatic colour of the fields. With the atmospheric summer cloud combined with the blanket of purple and green fields I thought that it would be an ideal composition to develop an expressive painting. The original painting is painted with oil paints on board and measures 50cm x 50cm and is presented in a bespoke hand painted frame by the leading framers QED, based in Marlborough. The painting is signed, titled and dated on the reverse and is ready to hang. The painting is sold with a Valuation Certificate.
