River Avon Below The Weir

This is my favourite stretch on the River Avon where I love to go fishing for barbel and chub. I visited ten days before the fishing season started and I was watching the fish moving in the shallow water and it was so relaxing. The weather was perfect and the fast flowing water running off from the weir reminded me of times spent fishing in previous seasons. The colours reflected in the water provided the main inspiration for the painting as the water flows to meet the main flow close to the lock that is hidden behind the trees on the far side. The painting was created in my garden studio using oil paint on board. The painting is sold unframed or framed at an additional cost. Please get in touch to discuss framing options.
